Hajime “Haji” Ueda, 92, of Pahala died Nov. 17 in Waimanalo. Born in Ka‘u, he was a retired from the Ka‘u Sugar Plantation and an Army veteran. Visitation from 10 a.m.-noon Tuesday at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Buddhist service at noon. Inurnment at 2 p.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire. Survived by wfie, Jane Sumie Ueda; sons, Clayton Ueda, Jerome Ueda, Lane Ueda and Lance Ueda; daughter, Jan Ueda-Ueda Waiolama; sisters, Toshino Mitsushima and Clara Kamachi; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Alexander “Alex” Carden Beckley, 80, of Kailua-Kona died Sunday at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired Honolulu County firefighter, a former aircraft mechanic for Lockheed Corp., a fisherman, a outdoorsman and member of Hope Chapel Kailua-Kona. Private services held. Survived by son, Tracy (Roxanne) Beckley of Hilo; daughters, Carlene (Bryan) da Silva of Kealakekua, Cherie-Dee (Robert) Salsedo of Waikoloa and Shellese (Daniel) Guieb of Kailua-Kona; sister, Dian (Eugene) Freitas of Kailua, Oahu; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Carissa Jane Brokaw, 43, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 17 at home. Born in Stamford, Conn., she was a former nanny. Services to be held in Florida.
