Marcelina “Inang” Cadiz Acorda, 87, of Honokaa died Dec. 27 at home. Born in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a homemaker, vegetable farmer and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation 5-9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Rosary/prayer service at 6 p.m. Visitation again 8-10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6 at the church. Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Burial at Honokaa Catholic Cemetery. Survived by daughters, Lapaz Altura, Norma Failano of Honokaa, Fely (Joseph) Torres of Waimea, Fraxie Simeon of Keaau, Leticia (Charles) Mathieu of Hilo and Teresa (Jereme) Weems of California; sons, Felimon (Janet) Acorda of Kailua-Kona, Peter (Yolanda) Acorda of California and John (Ester) Acorda of Paauilo; sisters, Eufrosenia Cadiz DelaCruz, Anastacia Cadiz Dayrit, Agustina Cadiz Acosta and Lilia Cadiente of Phillippines, Visanta (Silverio) Macuray of Honokaa, Ofelia (Fred) Manibog and Mayrose Cadiz of Kauai; brother, Manuel (Rosita) Cadiente of Philippines; 26 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews.
